November Support Acts

This November, you can look forward to some unique and talented openers. With acts ranging from folky guitar-driven ballads, to noise rock, to social commentar,y through to spoken word – you won’t want to miss them.

Thick Richard is a critically acclaimed spoken word artist from Manchester. His work speaks on the modern social climate of today while adding a witty and charismatic edge. Throughout his career, he has grown a significant following, making a name for himself in the UK’s spoken word and poetry scene. He will be opening for AK/DK on the 1st of November at Alphabet Brighton.

Massive Luxury Overdose are a gothic post-punk band with a unique sound that combines dark and haunting vocal tones with production reminiscent of both rock and 2000s electroclash. They will also be opening for AK/DK on the 1st of November at Alphabet Brighton.

Pillow are a mesmerising contemporary classical group performing the works of James Osler. The group’s emotive and dynamic sound creates an immersive experience for the audience. They will be opening for Samana on the 8th of November at The Rose Hill Brighton.

Heather Cartwright is a Cumbria-born singer/songwriter and guitarist who is now based in Glasgow. Her traditional self-written songs are a beautiful blend of complex guitar melodies, a soft vocal tone, and honest songwriting. She will be opening for Kris Drever on the 13th of November at The Ropetackle Arts Centre Shoreham-By-Sea.

Lower Slaughter are a 4-piece lurching noise-rock band formed in the late 2010s. The band mastered the intentional yet messy sound with crashing drums and driving guitar riffs. The band will be opening for Billy Mahonie on the 14th of November at The Prince Albert Brighton.

Ollo are a genre-defying group that refuses to be limited in their sound. They were formed in the late 90s and have released multiple albums as well as toured around Europe and the US. With glistening electronic sounds and atmospheric vocal textures, their music has a uniquely dark but playful feel. They will be opening for Aircooled on the 17th of November.

Emily Barker is an award-winning Australian singer-songwriter. Throughout her career, she has toured as a solo artist and with other artists and bands, as well as written and performed the theme song for the successful BBC crime drama ‘Wallander’. She will be opening for King Creosote on the 26th of November at Komedia Brighton.
